My First PCE EVENT

i love you... shucks...

Since the third week of October, yours truly "was" deprived of sleep. There was so much "clerical" stuff to do in the office. Well, I'm not really complaining bout the work, it's just the hours weren't my cup of tea. Doing OT without pay is not exactly the best thing to do during these hard times.

The reason for my "unbelievable" working hours was an event sponsored by PCE. There was going to be a forum discussing the need to incorporate entrepreneurship into our basic education systems. Yup, you read it right. Our grade school and high school systems are in need of a facelift. Entrepreneurship definitely will help alleviate the country's economic situation. Entrepreneurs have to start young!

I remember back in my high school that entrepreneurship was discouraged. We were strongly discouraged from selling anything within school grounds - and the "anything" includes candies and chocolate bars. The restrictions set for "selling" still make me wonder.. hmm....

Going back to the "event" - I was in charge of this luncheon that Jose Ma. Concepcion III wanted to hold. The luncheon was supposedly in honor of PGMA who was a guest in the said forum. (yeah right?)

Being in-charge of the luncheon wasn't exactly the easiest thing to do. I was dealing with the A-list of society people (businessmen, entrepreneurs, and government officials). I was kinda disappointed (yet amused.. weird right) that some people do not seem to understand the importance of an RSVP - and these people happen to be in the A-list.. (hehehe...)

Nway, I met David Consunji, Socorro Ramos, Dr. Hortaleza, Pacita Juan, Vivienne Tan, Marixi Prieto and other entrepreneurs - there were over a hundred in my lunch list. Coolness! Sana sila na lang ang aking future employers.

The luncheon didn't go smoothly as planned. There were people (over 50) who were not on my guest list. Some who came didn't bother to reply to the RSVP.

Hay.. ang Pinoy nga naman....

Well, dinner was the highlight of the day. I was so stuffed with hotdogs, juice, chicken sate, spring rolls and ice cream!!! Grabe, I don't think I could eat another mighty meaty hotdog for the next 2 weeks or so...

Hehe... Will post pictures of me, ali, jo and fe soon...
