The Oh-so Low Maintenance Me...

Something struck me.... I felt like I could call myself as one of those "plain-Jane" types....

I was raised up in a way that meant being frugal and simple were nothing to be ashamed of. My old alma mater also happened to have instilled "similar" virtues: the value of prayer and work, and the never-ending call towards solidarity with the poor. I enjoy simple things. I enjoy conversations with friends, eating out (not in fancy joints), chatting while walking on some familiar road. I don't complain if I need to take the bus, the jeep, or the fx (but mind you, I - for some reason - do not "dig" the MRT.. ahaha) I don't mind if I get a haircut twice a year or if the salon reminds me of a doctor's visit.

There are new things I want to try - the child in me has never given up the curiousity. But still, I get excited over the simplest things. I don't need to bungee-jump or go somewhere to be happy. I'm happy to be in the comfort of people I love. I don't care if we can't go clubbing or whatever. I am content to know what's going on in your life - that you trust me enough to bare your soul. That I am there for you when you need to say something silly or when something has pricked your heart.

I remember saying something about how I want to spend my days doing quality work.. not quantity work...

plain Janes of the world, unite! I think we're the type that would rather gather and about everything and nothing at all than go clubbing or whatever. We do this not only because we're cheapos (haha!), but because we rarely get together and would just want to know what's going on in each other's lives. What do you think? :)
